February 23rd, Roy Goodman, Assistant Librarian and Curator of Printed Materials at the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia, spoke on Benjamin Franklin and his Bucks County connections. The American Philosophical Society was founded in 1743 by Ben when 'philosophy' meant knowledge, especially in science and technology. It is the oldest learned society in the United States and its true goal is promoting useful knowledge.
